March 2017 Newsletter | Marking six months since Hurricane Matthew

It’s hard to believe that we are already marking the six-month anniversary of Hurricane Matthew, which devastated Haiti on 4 October last.  Now, the people of Haiti are looking to the future once again, and every day that passes marks another step on an extraordinary journey of growth and recovery.

In our latest newsletter, we share how that journey has been progressing over the past six months.  Walking around the island of Île à Vache, where many of our programmes are based, for example, every corner turned reveals another family rebuilding their home; a farmer replanting their crops; or a fisherman returning to sea.

The businesses set up by women participating in our Chache Lavi programme are growing from strength to strength, and there are significant orders coming in for produce at our Christine Farm.

We’re delighted to share all these developments with you here, and are excited for all that’s to come in the months ahead.
