Our 2017 Volunteer Programme is in full flow in the small community of Carrefour Dufont, where forty volunteers are upgrading the local school.
Days One and Two saw the volunteers begin work on a new kitchen and shaded area, giving the school’s 220 students and nine teachers a safe place to eat and play in, sheltered from the searing sun.
Three of the school’s buildings also saw their roofs repaired, having suffered damage in 2016’s Hurricane Matthew. Heavy rains set in, moving the focus to the indoors refurbishment work needed in the school’s classrooms and facilities while volunteers waited for the deluge to subside.
Take a look at all the action for yourself – and stay tuned for more updates over the next few days!
