Tag Rugby Blitz 2017 | FAQs

Coming to our Tag Rugby Blitz?

We thought it might be helpful to run through a few details before the event, so here’s everything you need to know!

Where is the event on?

Our Tag Rugby Blitz is taking place in Wanderers FC, 65A Merrion Road, Dublin 4: you’ll find directions here.  There is free parking available at the clubhouse.

What time does the event start at?

Games kick off at 6pm, but you’ll need time to change and to register, so please arrive between 5.15pm and 5.30pm so that you’re ready to go!

What are the rules of tag rugby?

We’ll be playing by Irish Tag Rugby Social Laws which means that, during play, three players on your team should be female.  There’ll be a venue manager and referees on hand if you have any questions on the rules before the games begin.  Your team captain should be assigned before the event, and their names submitted to Haven (email with details).

What does our team need to bring?

All your team members will need tag rugby shorts to play.  We will have a number of pairs of tag shorts available at the venue at €10 a pair; these will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Please email if you have any questions about the tag shorts.

Team jerseys aren’t compulsory, but your team should wear the same colour t-shirt on the pitch if it hasn’t got a jersey.  All players should also be wearing boots or runners for safety.

There is no ATM available at the clubhouse, so do bring any money you need with you.

Will there be food available?

Yes, there will be BBQ available on the evening, and there will be drinks deals running in the clubhouse bar all evening.

Are there changing rooms available?

There are male and female changing rooms at the clubhouse, where you can prepare before the games and change again before the awards ceremony after the tournament.

Will there be a First Aid team on hand?

An ambulance team from the Order of Malta will be joining us at the event to provide full first aid cover.

If you have any questions about our Tag Rugby Blitz, please email Orlaith Grehan at or call 01 681 5440.
